IMPHAL, Jan 2: Security forces during an operation recovered atleast 27 country made bombs and successfully neutralised the explosives in Manipur’s Imphal East district, a police statement informed on Friday.
Police said “security forces neutralized 27 country-made bombs at a safe spot near Monglham village area in Imphal East district from where the bombs were found on Thursday.”
In another unrelated operation, security forces recovered three arms and cache of ammunitions and explosives from Langdum Nungjengbi area in Imphal East district on Wednesday.
The recovered weapons included one local-made .32 pistol with magazine, one 12-bore SBBL gun, one rifle, two No. 36 hand-grenades, 135 ammunition rounds of different calibers, two lathode shells, three detonators, and two wireless sets.
