IMPHAL, Jan 3:  Security forces arrested two arms smuggler in Manipur’s Imphal East district and recovered arms and ammunitions, a police statement informed on Saturday.

One arms smuggler, identified as Thoudam Ranjan Singh (41) was arrested from the locality of his residence at Leimakhong Mapal Mamang Leikai on Thursday, police said.

Nine rounds of 9 mm ammunition were seized from him.

Security forces arrested another arm smuggler, identified as Karam Mani Meitei (35) from his residence at Thongju Part-II, Pichu Lampak Ningombam Leirak on Friday.

One 9 mm pistol with magazine was seized from him, it said.
