IMPHAL, Jan 5 (NNN): Thadou Community International (TCI) has condemned IED blasts in Bishnupur of Manipur today and urged immediate “iron-hand action against Kuki supremacist terrorism”.
“Thadou Community International (TCI) strongly condemns today’s IED blasts in Saiton-Nganukon, Bishnupur district, Manipur, which injured two innocent Meitei civilians”, the Thadou body said. It also stated that “these acts of violent terrorism spread fear among peace-loving Thadou people just as normalcy has begun gradually returning through sustained peace efforts by Thadou Inpi Manipur”.
The Thadou body said it “sees this incident as a blatant manifestation of Kuki supremacist violent terrorism intent on derailing reconciliation and sowing division”. The TCI then said the Thadou community firmly rejected such extremism and stands committed to peace, coexistence, and Manipur’s territorial integrity.
The Thadou body then urged the Government of India to act decisively with an iron hand under President’s Rule in Manipur state government to neutralize “this threat” without delay. The TCI also said the Centre must not wait for a “pushback (retaliate and defend themselves) from the people of Manipur against the Indian state—prompt, firm and impartial action is essential to restore confidence and prevent further escalation”.
