IMPHAL, Jan 10: Security forces arrested three militants belonging to different proscribed outfits from different valley districts of Manipur, a police statement informed on Saturday.
Police arrested an active cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) from Kongpal Chingangbam in Imphal East district on Thursday.
Security forces arrested an extortionist and a active cadre of PREPAK (PRO) from Lamboikhongnangkhong in Imphal West district on Thursday. He has been identified as Thoudam Nanaobi (50).
One active cadre of the banned Peoples’ Liberation Army was arrested from Nagaram area in Imphal West district on Thursday. He has been identified as Wahengbam Bimal Meitei (26). An envelope containing ten demand letters of “Government of Peoples Republic of Nagalim” were recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered two CMGs, one improvised .303 rifle, two improvised single bolt action rifles, one 36 HE hand grenade, one detonator, 14 rounds of different calibres from Ikop Pat area in Thoubal district on Friday.
From the hill ranges of Natum Ching, Sanasabi in Imphal East district, one Single Barrel Rifle (SBBL), one country-made AK rifle without magazine, one Bolt-action rifle, one No. 36 hand-grenade, one 81 mm ILLG (para bomb), one 51 mm ILLG (para bomb) were also recovered on Friday.
