Over 31500 students appear for Class 12 state board exams in Manipur

IMPHAL, Feb 17:   Atleast 31,530 students on Tuesday appeared for the class 12 state board exams conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, officials said. 

The students, including 15,908 are male and 15,622 are female candidates, gave the exam across 117 examination centres across the state including 39 centres in hill districts and 78 in valley areas.

412 internally displaced students also appeared for the exams.

Stream-wise, 23,146 students are from the Science stream, 7,697 from Arts, and 687 from Commerce, as per officials.

To ensure fair conduct, strict monitoring has been enforced by teachers and invigilators, while the Manipur Police Department has been deployed additional security personnel at all centres. 

Students were thoroughly checked before entry to prevent malpractice.

Authorities have emphasized discipline, punctuality, and transparency to maintain the integrity of the examinations across Manipur.

The exam is scheduled till March 20.

Meanwhile, examinations at Wabagai Higher Secondary Exam Centre in Kakching district was disrupted following allegations of denial of extra time to students. Some students tore their answer scripts in protest, leading to tension at the examination centre.
