IMPHAL, Feb 24: Manipur chief minister Y Khemchand Singh on Tuesday met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and briefed him on steps taken up by the state government to restore peace and normalcy in the state, an official statement said.
A three-member delegation of the Manipur government led by Singh and two deputy chief ministers L Dikho of Naga Peoples’ Front and Nemcha Kipgen of BJP met with Modi at the PM’s office in Seva Teerth.
The chief minister briefed Modi on the steps taken up by the new state government to bring peace and harmony in the state and urged the Prime Minister to take special care on women empowerment in both hills and valley, it said.
Singh and his two deputy chief ministers also invited the Prime Minister to visit the state, it said.
