Guwahati, Sept 19:  Assam police have successfully cracked down on a cybercrime operation in Morigaon district, arresting eight individuals from Moirabari. The arrests followed a targeted raid in Laharighat on Thursday, based on specific intelligence.

The arrested individuals include Jahanur Ali, Fardis Ali, Wakibur Rahman, Hussain Jahangir Ali, and Babul Islam. Authorities are still confirming the identities of three additional suspects taken into custody during the operation.

Although details of their activities are not fully disclosed, initial reports suggest their involvement in interstate phishing scams and fraudulent loan schemes. The police had been monitoring the group’s activities prior to the raid.

The Morigaon police are currently interrogating the suspects to break down the cybercrime network. While some suspects have evaded capture, the detained individuals are in police custody, and further investigations are underway.
