Senapati, Sept 24: As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2024, a comprehensive cleanliness drive was organized on Tuesday in Senapati district to promote hygiene and cleanliness across the region. The initiative was spearheaded by the Department of District Youth Affairs and Sports, Senapati, and involved a collaborative effort with various local organizations including SDOAM, DSA, SDBA, SDWA, and the Basket Association & Athletic Association.
These groups worked together to clean several key sports complexes in the district, such as the Sanyi Dahrii Sporting Complex, Senapati Astro Turf, the Multipurpose Hall, and the Mini Stadium, ensuring that these public spaces were well-maintained and free of litter.
In addition to the sports complexes, the drive extended to several schools under the Autonomous District Council in Senapati. These educational institutions actively participated in the initiative, helping to instill a sense of responsibility for cleanliness among the youth.
The campaign also included awareness programs aimed at educating the public about the importance of maintaining hygiene and proper waste disposal. By engaging a wide range of community members, including local youth, the drive reinforced the ongoing efforts to keep the district clean and support the larger national mission of Swachh Bharat.
The Senapati cleanliness drive is part of the broader SHS 2024 campaign, which seeks to engage citizens across India in maintaining public cleanliness and hygiene. The initiative aligns with this year’s theme, “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata” — emphasizing clean personal values and cultural practices.
