IMD Forecasts Widespread Showers in Northeast India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted of heavy rainfall in Northeast India, predicting significant downpours in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from October 2 to 4. Light to moderate rainfall is expected across the region over the next two days, followed by widespread precipitation in the subsequent five days. Isolated heavy showers are also anticipated in Assam and Meghalaya.

In addition, widespread light to moderate rainfall is forecasted for Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat in the next two days, while dry weather is expected to begin in Saurashtra & Kutch starting October 2.

The IMD reported heavy to very heavy rainfall across several states, including East Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar, as well as isolated regions in Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, and Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, the highest maximum temperature of 41.7°C was recorded in Pokharan, West Rajasthan.
