SENAPATI, June 7: The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has appealed to its constituent units and subordinate bodies to observe the ‘ANSAM Day of Prayer’ on June 8, 2025, in line with the resolutions adopted during its first legislative assembly at Heibunglok village in Chandel district.
In a statement issued by ANSAM, it urged its members to observe the day of prayer in a manner that is most convenient and feasible for each unit, encouraging flexibility to accommodate the varying circumstances of its units. The association highlighted several prayer points, all centered around the issues affecting the Naga people.
The key points of prayer, as outlined by ANSAM, include seeking divine guidance and blessings for those serving the Naga people, particularly in their efforts to address issues related to the rights of the Naga community. The association also called for prayers for Naga unity and the logical settlement of the Indo-Naga political conflict, emphasizing the importance of an inclusive, honorable, and acceptable agreement based on the Framework Agreement.
Furthermore, ANSAM urged prayers for the Free Movement Regime and for the challenges arising from the ongoing border fencing construction, which has been a contentious issue for the Nagas in their homeland.
The association also appealed for prayers for the wellbeing and academic success of all Naga students, as well as the health and safety of ANSAM leaders, Naga civil society leaders, and key political figures within the Naga community, including national workers, politicians, and public leaders.
