Senapati, October 24 (NNN): The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has expressed its outrage and condemnation “in the strongest terms possible against the barbaric, unprovoked, and inhuman targeted drone attack carried out by the Indian armed forces upon Khammoi village under East Konyak Region on October 20, 2025, which resulted in the brutal killings of two innocent Naga civilians namely Phiphot Wangsa, 7 years old, a grade 1 student of Khammoi Mission School and a committed student activist Khampei Wangsa, 27 years old, joint secretary of the Khammoi Students’ Union”.
The ANSAM said today that this “atrocious and cowardly act” is a flagrant violation of international human rights and the very principles of justice and civility. “It represents yet another chapter in a long and painful narrative of systematic, militarisation, occupation and subjugation of the Naga people in their own homeland under the oppressive shadow of Indian state power”, the ANSAM also said.
The Naga student body then said the taking away of two innocent Naga lives and harming innocent children, elderly men and women and many others is not an isolated incident but a continued and deliberate undeclare war unleashing upon the Naga civilians that negates the hard earned Indo-Naga peace process which has been built upon mutual understanding and respect since decades back of sacrifice, dialogue, and political understanding at the highest level between the two entities.
The ANSAM then questioned the Indian armed forces over the “illegal use” of drone combats upon the Naga people. “It is pertinent to mention that the Government of India sponsored Indian armed machineries have targeted drone strikes twice on a Naga village this year. Such a cowardly act is nothing but a crime against humanity. Once again, the ANSAM condemns in the most absolute and uncompromising language this unforgivable crime against humanity”, it added.
The ANSAM then said the Naga issue is not a law and order matter, but a political
conflict with historical legitimacy. The Naga student body also said the “continuous militarisation of our land and the indiscriminate killing of unarmed civilians are acts of state terrorism, designed to suppress the rightful political aspirations of the Naga people for self -determination and peace with justice”.
The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur then said it “stands unwavering solidarity” with the bereaved families of the “two martyrs” and the people of Khanmoi village. Their sacrifices shall never be forgotten. The blood they shed shall be remembered as a sacred offering in the long and righteous struggle for the freedom and dignity of the Naga nation, the ANSAM stated.
In the face of such “provocation and brutality”, the ANSAM urged the Naga people living across the “imaginary boundary line” to remain united, vigilant, and resolute for our cause. We shall not be broken by fear, nor defeated by oppression. It said the Naga national spirit, forged in pain and purified in sacrifice, shall continue to burn ever brighter.
The ANSAM then said, “Let this incident stand as a solemn reminder to the world that the Naga struggle for justice, peace, and political recognition cannot be extinguished by bullets, drones and sophisticated weapons, nor buried by lies. The voice of truth shall echo louder than the roar of guns, and the Naga people shall triumph over the oppressors”.
The ANSAM then sought the intervention of United Nations Organisations(UNO), international human rights organisations and “conscientious” international communities to act for ending the draconian law, the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, “that has been weaponizing by the government of India to disseminate the lives and aspirations of the struggling people in the sub-continent”.
In consonance with the Naga Students’ Federation, the ANSAM reaffirmed its resolute stance of non-cooperation with the Indian armed forces across all the constituent units and sub-ordinate units until AFSPA is repealed.
