Imphal, Aug 13: Security forces in Manipur recovered a large cache of arms and equipment from Dampi Ridge under Churachandpur police station on August 12. The seizure included three single-barrel rifles, five long-range mortars (pompi), seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two bulletproof vests, two Baofeng Motorola radios, a charger, and two helmets.
On the same day, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of the proscribed outfit PREPAK (PRO), identified as Elangbam Bijeshwori Devi (22) of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai Bokul Makhong, Imphal West. She was apprehended from Hiyanglam Awang Leikai in Kakching district, and a mobile phone was seized from her possession.

Meanwhile, police have stepped up traffic enforcement across the state. On August 12, sixteen challans were issued, collecting Rs 21,000 in fines. A day earlier, five vehicles were detained for violations, and tinted films were removed from 22 vehicles. The drive continued through August 10–11, during which Rs 39,000 in fines were collected and tinted films removed from 26 vehicles.
