IMPHAL, Nov 26: Security forces recovered cache of arms along with a long range rocket with nearly 40 kgs of explosives during search operations in Manipur’s Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts, police said on Wednesday.
The arms were recovered during separate operations on Tuesday, a police statement informed.
One improvised long range rocket with nearly 40 kgs of explosives along with rocket launching stand, battery piece and five sandbags were recovered from Gelmol village in Churachandpur district.
Security forces recovered one Heckler & Koch G3 with magazine, two Bolt Action rifles, four Pull Mechanism rifles, one Improvised Mortar, two No. 36 Hand Grenades, and Detonators along with a radio set from the vicinity of Songlung village in Kangpokpi district.
One CMG carbine, one .303 rifle, two pistols, nine country made Bolt action Single Barrels, one country made SBBL, one local made Grenade, three pieces of PEK, two hand sets and others were recovered from Gelbung jungle in Kangpokpi district.
