IMPHAL, Nov 25: Security forces recovered cache of arms and ammunitions during an operation at a forest area in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, police said on Tuesday.
A joint team of police, BSF, CRPF and army conducted a joint combing operations at Ningthiching village on Monday, a police statement informed.
Later, based on intelligence input about the presence of arms, ammunitions and war like stores being concealed at nearby forest area of Bolneo, some 5 km from Ningthiching village, another operation was launched, police said.
During the follow up cordorn and elaborate search operation in the forest area, cache of arms and ammunitions were recovered, they said.
The recovered cache included seven modified projectile launchers, eleven local-made Pumpi projectile HE bombs, seven country-made single barrel rifles, two country-made pistols, two handsets, nine BP jackets and others.
No arrests were made during the operation, they said.
