GUWAHATI, April 11: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) released the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025 on April 11.
Candidates who appeared for Class 10 board exams can now view their results on the official websites – asseb.in, sebaonline.org, and resultsassam.nic – by submitting their roll numbers to download their provisional marksheets.
This year, a total of 4,29,449 registered candidates appeared for the HSLC exams, out of which 4,22,737 candidates appeared for the Feb 15 to Mar 3, 2025, exams. The practical exams were conducted earlier on Jan 21 and 22. Out of the appeared candidates, 2,70,471 cleared, which made the overall pass percentage 63.98%. But 6,712 students didn’t appear, 22 results were withheld, and 101 students were expelled due to malpractice.
It so happened that for gender-wise involvement, 1,87,752 male and 2,34,985 female candidates sat for the examination. Although the pass percentage this time dipped from a higher figure against 75.7% achieved in 2024, overall performance and development in subject-wise marks were applauded by the board.
Topping the merit list is Amishii Saikia of Pragya Academy Senior Secondary School, who led the state with 591 marks (98.50%). Saptarswa Bordoloi of Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya, Noonmati, secured the second position with 590 marks (98.33%), while Anirban Borgohain of Pragya Academy secured the third position with 589 marks (98.17%).
In the breakdown of performance, 89,041 students got first division, 5,336 got distinction, 16,517 got Star marks, and 1,68,312 got Letter marks in individual subjects. These figures indicate a satisfactory level of academic performance in districts.
Students are recommended to make use of the provisional marksheet posted online as a reference until their respective schools release the original mark sheets. The scorecard contains the student’s name, roll number, date of birth, and marks subject-wise.
In comparison, the Class 10 exams of last year were conducted from February 16 to March 4, 2024, and the results were announced on April 20, 2024. In 2024, 4,19,078 students had appeared, and 3,17,317 had passed, with an overall higher pass percentage of 75.7%, with 77.3% being achieved by male students and 74.4% by female students.
For students who are dissatisfied with their marks, the board has opened provisions for re-evaluation and rechecking via its official website. Details about the HSLC Compartment Exams 2025 will be announced shortly for those who did not pass in one or two subjects.
