SENAPATI, April 22: In a commendable initiative to foster environmental consciousness and strengthen community engagement, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Namai Eco Tourism Society, organised a vibrant Earth Day celebration at the scenic Namai Zho Valley in Senapati District.
The event commenced with a tree plantation drive, where a significant number of saplings were planted to support local afforestation efforts and promote ecological sustainability. This was followed by the distribution of Cosmos seeds, signifying hope, renewal, and the collective responsibility of preserving nature’s beauty.
To engage the creative spirit of the youth and raise awareness through artistic expression, a painting competition was also conducted on the theme ‘Environmental Conservation’. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with young artists showcasing their talent and environmental awareness through vibrant artwork.
Prizes and medals were awarded to the winners and participants, acknowledging their efforts and reinforcing the significance of Earth Day. The event witnessed overwhelming participation from the local community, making it a truly inclusive and memorable occasion.
