Assam Rifles conducts medical camp at Maiba village in Senapati

SENAPATI, Dec 30: Assam Rifles organised a medical camp and medicine distribution programme at Maiba village, Senapati on December 29, according to a press release issued by HQ IGAR (East).

The initiative aimed at providing quality healthcare support to the local population at their doorstep while also creating awareness on preventive health practices.

The camp began with an informative lecture on disease prevention, during which medical personnel highlighted the importance of maintaining hygiene and sanitation, adopting nutritious dietary habits, and engaging in regular physical exercise for a healthy lifestyle. Following the awareness session, villagers were provided with medical consultations and free medicines.

A total of 363 villagers benefited from the camp, including 144 men, 180 women and 39 children. Screening for hypertension, diabetes and other lifestyle-related ailments was also carried out to ensure early detection and timely medical intervention.

The initiative provided much-needed medical assistance to residents who often face challenges in accessing affordable and quality healthcare facilities.

‘Such events play a vital role in promoting community well being and encouraging healthy living,” the press release stated.
