Assam Rifles Seize ₹1 Crore Worth of Cash and Drugs in Mizoram

Aizawl, Oct 12:   In two separate operations in Champhai, Mizoram, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Excise & Narcotics Department, seized drugs and cash totaling ₹95.44 lakhs on Thursday, apprehending two individuals involved in illegal activities.

The first operation in the Zote area led to the recovery of 7.36 kg of marijuana, valued at ₹5.44 lakhs, and the arrest of a 33-year-old man. In a second operation at Vengsang, Champhai, ₹90 lakhs in Indian currency was seized, resulting in the capture of a 38-year-old Myanmar national, identified as Thanpmanglian.

Both operations were conducted based on specific intelligence inputs, with the seized contraband and individuals handed over to the Excise & Narcotics Department for further legal action.
