DIMAPUR, April 1: In a thrilling showdown at a packed Chümoukedima Football Stadium, Barak FC triumphed over Longterok FC 3-1 to claim the inaugural Nagaland Super League (NSL) title on Tuesday night.

From the moment the whistle blew, Barak FC asserted their dominance on the pitch, showcasing superior play and giving their opponents little room to maneuver. Demonstrating maturity and tactical superiority, they maintained control of the game until the final whistle.

The first half saw both teams launching aggressive attacks and counter-attacks, testing each other’s defenses, yet neither side managed to break the deadlock before halftime.

The second half saw an escalation in intensity, fueled by the cheers of the enthusiastic crowd. The breakthrough for Barak FC came in the 51st minute when Mangkholen found the net, giving his team a crucial lead. This was followed by a strike from Toka in the 64th minute and another goal from Lun Kuki in the 83rd minute, solidifying Barak’s path to victory.

Despite their efforts, Longterok FC struggled to regain footing as Barak’s solid defense thwarted most of their attacks. Longterok’s defensive vulnerabilities further hindered their comeback attempts.

A consolation goal for Longterok FC came in the dying moments of the game, with K Assumi scoring in the 90+5th minute. However, it was too little, too late, as Barak FC held firm to secure the championship.
