MUMBAI, March 20: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced a substantial reward of Rs. 58 crore for Team India after their triumphant victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The reward is a gesture of appreciation for the exceptional performance of the team, the coaching staff, and the support staff in securing the prestigious title.
The reward package includes Rs. 3 crore each for the head coach and every player, while each member of the support staff will receive Rs. 50 lakhs. This financial reward highlights the contributions of the players, coaching staff, support staff, and the Men’s Selection Committee in clinching yet another ICC title for India.
Under the leadership of Captain Rohit Sharma, Team India displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament. India’s journey began with a six-wicket win over Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket victory against Pakistan. The momentum continued as India defeated Australia by four wickets in the semi-finals, and they capped off their campaign with a 44-run win over New Zealand.
The grand finale took place on March 9 in Dubai, where India faced New Zealand once again. Rohit Sharma led from the front with a splendid 76 runs, guiding India to a four-wicket victory and securing their second consecutive ICC Champions Trophy title.
BCCI President Roger Binny lauded the team’s achievement, saying, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes.”
