NEW DELHI, Feb 19: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced Rekha Gupta as the next Chief Minister of Delhi following their victory in the February 8 Delhi Assembly elections. Gupta, a newly-elected MLA from Shalimar Bagh, was selected as the leader of the Delhi BJP Legislature Party during a meeting held at the party’s state office on Pant Marg.

This announcement came hours after the BJP high command appointed former Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and OP Dhankar as central observers for the election of the BJP Legislature Party leader. Gupta’s swearing-in ceremony will take place at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday, February 20, at 12:00 PM, with Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, set to administer the oath of office.
