In a severe accident early Tuesday, two people lost their lives and 20 others sustained injuries when approximately 18 coaches of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed in Jharkhand. The derailment occurred around 3:45 AM near Badabamboo, approximately 80 kilometers from Jamshedpur.
Rescue teams were promptly dispatched to the scene, and efforts are ongoing to manage the aftermath of the derailment. Senior Railways official Om Prakash Charan reported that a nearby goods train also derailed, though it is yet to be confirmed if the incidents are connected.
Of the 18 coaches involved, 16 were passenger coaches, one was a power car, and one was a pantry car. Injured passengers received immediate first aid from the Railways’ medical teams and have since been transferred to Chakradharpur for more comprehensive treatment.
The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation. In response to the incident, the Indian Railways has organized alternative transportation and set up helplines to assist affected passengers.

Indian Railways authority should investigate at the earliest for cause of derailment and fixed it inorder prevent it in near future.
