Senapati, Aug 22: Somang School commemorated its 2nd foundation day with a vibrant celebration on Thursday. The event featured a series of engaging activities that highlighted the students’ creativity and devotion.
The festivities began with a dynamic drawing competition, showcasing students’ artistic talents across two age groups. Lhingneilhai Chongloi of Class 6 won 1st place, while Yasingmi Luithui of Class 2 secured 2nd place. Both winners will be awarded a one-month scholarship for their outstanding artwork.
Following the drawing competition, a Bible recitation contest was held, where participants memorized and recited John 1:1-14 with impressive devotion and clarity. Juho Tao of Class 7 achieved 1st place, and Neisounlhing Chongloi of Class 2 took 2nd place. The top performers in this contest will receive a two-month scholarship in recognition of their impressive recitations.
The day’s events not only celebrated the students’ skills but also fostered a sense of community. The celebration concluded with a joyful communal meal, bringing together students and staff for a moment of shared happiness.
Somang School, located in Senapati’s Taphou Onaeme near Light Shine Ministry, was founded on August 22, 2023. The school is led by Principal R. Chao Tao and Headmistress Kim Yuna, supported by a team of 12 qualified educators with B.Ed, D.El.Ed, and Montessori certifications. The institution features a well-equipped Elpis library and offers a comprehensive curriculum, including academic education, HAVRUTA (Character) education, music, library activities, and Korean language classes. Designed to accommodate a maximum of 30 students per classroom, Somang School aims to provide an interactive and student-centered learning environment.
