Centre and Tripura Government Sign Historic Peace Pact with NLFT and ATTF

New Delhi:   In a major step towards establishing lasting peace in Tripura, the central and state governments signed a landmark agreement today with the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF). The signing, overseen by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, aims to end years of violence and insurgency in the Northeastern state.

This Memorandum of Settlement is intended to promote peace and development in Tripura, marking an end to the prolonged insurgency in the region. During the ceremony, Home Minister Shah praised the Modi government’s dedication to achieving peace and progress in the Northeast, noting “With this agreement, Tripura moves another step closer to peace and prosperity.”

Shah also underscored the central government’s Rs 2,500 crore development package for the Northeast, aimed at accelerating growth in the region. He mentioned that 12 significant agreements have been signed to ensure peace and prosperity across the Northeastern states, with three specifically related to Tripura. As a result of these initiatives, more than 10,000 people have surrendered their weapons and joined the mainstream.

This settlement is part of a larger government initiative to ensure lasting peace in the Northeast, with 12 agreements signed so far, including three specifically focused on Tripura.
