President Murmu Urges Tribal Community to Prioritize Education for Children

Jaipur, Oct 4:    President Droupadi Murmu on Friday emphasized the importance of education for children in the tribal community, urging parents to provide their children with opportunities to grow and excel in life.

Speaking at the Aadi Gaurav Samman ceremony at Mangarh Dham in Rajasthan’s Banswara, the President said, “The government stands with the tribal society.” She highlighted the significance of education in shaping the future of the community, sharing her own experience of benefiting from hostel facilities during her student years. “Had I not got a hostel facility, my studies could have stopped,” she added.

President Murmu is currently on a two-day visit to Rajasthan. Earlier on Friday, she attended a program organized by the Brahmakumaris in Abu Road, Sirohi, where she discussed the importance of spirituality as a means of improving one’s mind through pure deeds. Later in the day, she participated in the Aadi Gaurav Samman ceremony, where several women were honored for their contributions.

Congratulating the recipients, President Murmu noted that the number of women receiving awards outnumbered men, calling it a “matter of pride.” She stressed that the development of women is a reflection of societal progress and emphasized the potential within the tribal community. The President reiterated the need for children to be sent to school and encouraged participation in sports.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, speaking at the event, described the land of Mangarh as sacred and expressed happiness over the President’s presence at the Dham. He also highlighted the state’s tourism initiatives, mentioning a new circuit encompassing Tripura Sundari, Mangarh, and Beneshwar Dham.

Governor Haribhau Bagde, who also addressed the gathering, praised the tribal community for their role in preserving natural resources. “It is the tribal people who are saving water, forest, and land. They protect nature and are connected to the roots of culture and tradition,” he said.
