SENAPATI, Oct 10: In a new effort to safeguard pet health in rural communities, the Senapati Veterinary Department today launched a door-to-door vaccination drive at New Eden, Senapati. This initiative aims to protect pets such as dogs and cats from common diseases, particularly rabies, by bringing vaccination services directly to each household.
The campaign, which began earlier this week, has been well-received by villagers. Pet owners no longer need to travel long distances to clinics, as veterinary teams are now visiting homes with vaccines and offering basic health checkups for pets.
This initiative was introduced after growing concerns about the health of domestic pets and the potential risks posed by unvaccinated animals. The department’s efforts reflect a broader commitment to improving public health and animal welfare across the district.
Residents of New Eden Village expressed their gratitude, noting that the vaccination drive makes it easier to ensure their pets are protected. The campaign is expected to expand to other villages in Senapati District in the coming weeks.
