JERUSALEM, Oct 14: A Hezbollah drone attack on an Israeli army base in central-northern Israel last night resulted in the deaths of at least four Israeli soldiers and left over 58 others injured, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targeted a military base near Binyamina, a town north of Tel Aviv.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the strike, stating it was retaliation for Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon on Thursday, which killed 22 people and injured 117. The militant group’s statement was issued following the release of an audio message from their former leader, Hassan Nasrallah, urging members to protect their people, nation, and dignity.
This attack is part of a wider escalation in violence in the region, with tensions rising since the war in Gaza began following the Hamas-led terrorist attack in Israel in October last year. The West Bank has also seen a surge in violence during the ongoing conflict.
