SENAPATI, Oct 14: The District Magistrate of Senapati, has declared a section of the road from the “I Love Senapati” point to the Veterinary Quarter and the Tri-Junction near Don Bosco School, Lower Block, Maram Khunou, as a “No Parking Zone.” This measure aims to alleviate frequent traffic jams caused by unauthorized parking along the link road to Zaikarii/Christian Colony.
The decision follows a report from the Superintendent of Police, Senapati, who pointed out that vehicles were being parked in an unauthorized and disorganized manner. This haphazard parking was obstructing the free flow of traffic, causing regular jams and raising concerns that emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire tenders, and school vans could get stuck during critical situations.
In response, the District Magistrate invoked Section 117 of the Indian Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, declaring the area a “No Parking Zone,” with exceptions made for emergency vehicles. The order comes into effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
Any violation of this order will be dealt with according to the law, as the district authorities seek to ensure smoother traffic flow and prevent obstructions, particularly during emergencies.
