SENAPATI: The 4th Cosmos Flower Festival Men’s Volleyball Open Championship concluded in spectacular fashion as the Khabung Karong Youth and Students Organisation (KKYSO) claimed victory over Notorious Volleyball Club, Senapati, amid a charged atmosphere. Over 21 teams participated in the two-day championship, attracting a record turnout of more than 10,000 spectators who enjoyed the event against the scenic backdrop of Naamai Zho’s cosmos fields.
The tournament launched with an inspiring speech by Functional President P S John Longkhaye, Youth Officer of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Manipur, who underscored the significance of sports in fostering community unity. The grand finale was honored by Chief Guest Kowar Dilbung Lamkang, President of the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), who celebrated the competitors’ spirit, remarking, “It’s about the joy of competition and the bond it creates, regardless of victory or defeat.”
In addition to the fierce volleyball competition, the festival offered a host of activities, including angling contests, mini-games, and a lively raffle draw where winners took home popular local delicacies, adding a touch of local charm to the event. The vibrant event saw families and tourists flock to the flower meadows, enjoying both the competitive and cultural aspects of the festival.
