IMPHAL, Oct 21: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, along with Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Govindas Konthoujam, met with Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi on Sunday to discuss various developmental projects in the state.
In a post shared on X, Chief Minister Singh informed that they focused on advancing significant development initiatives under the Ministry of Minority Affairs. He highlighted discussions about constructing a world-class football stadium in Manipur aimed at nurturing local talent and supporting athletes.
Before this meeting, Singh convened with PWD officials to outline plans for executing ongoing and upcoming development works. He also describes the discussions as “productive” and emphasizing their commitment to fostering growth in both urban and rural sectors.
Earlier in the day, Singh also expressed his commitment to improving educational opportunities in the state, noting that the residential schools built in the hill districts represent more than just physical structures. “These schools are more than just buildings – they are investments in our children’s future, equipping them with the education and opportunities they deserve,” he wrote. He shared a brief video showcasing the residential school complexes and mentioned that similar schools have been established in Jiribam, Tengnoupal, Ukhrul, and Tamenglong.
