IMPHAL, Oct 22: Security forces carried out search operations and area domination in vulnerable areas across Manipur’s hill and valley districts. In Aigejang, Kangpokpi District, the operations led to the recovery of various weapons and explosives, including a .303 Sniper Rifle, a 9mm CMG with magazine, a 9mm Pistol, an SBBL, two 51mm Mortar HE, two No. 36 hand grenades, five rounds of live ammunition, a radio set, a picket grenade, and two smoke grenades.
Meanwhile, authorities facilitated the movement of essential goods along National Highways 37 and 2, with 194 and 205 vehicles, respectively, safely making their journey. Security was intensified in vulnerable areas, and convoys were deployed on sensitive routes to ensure the safe passage of vehicles.
Additionally, 109 Nakas (checkpoints) were established in different districts throughout the hills and valleys. No detentions were reported in connection with violations during these operations.
