IMPHAL, Oct 23: Manipur Police on Tuesday have apprehended six individuals connected to the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) in Porompat, Imphal East.
The arrested persons were identified as Oinam Abung Meitei (31), Leimapokpam Hari Meitei (53), Yaikhom Lukhoi Singh alias Inao (32), Oinam Bijen Meitei (25), Athokpham (N) Irengbam (O) Inaobi Devi alias Nanao (38), and Moirangthem Ichan Devi (20).
The police seized a four-wheeler, two two-wheelers, six mobile phones, a sling bag, two wallets, two ID cards, and Rs. 3,88,950 in cash from their possession. These individuals are suspected of being involved in illegal arms trading and extorting money from the general public, private firms, and government offices. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections.
