IMPHAL, Oct 24: The National Integration Tour organized by the Spear Corps of the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavana was successfully held from October 14 to October 23, for nine youth ambassadors from Manipur. The tour concluded with a grand ceremony at Koirengei in Imphal West district on Wednesday, as stated in a press release by Kohima-based Defence PRO.
The tour aimed to promote national unity and cultural understanding and was inaugurated by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Red Shield Division. During the 10-day journey, participants visited Army establishments, historical sites, and interacted with civil dignitaries and senior Army officers in Kolkata, Tawang, and Shillong.
In Shillong, the ambassadors had the privilege of meeting Meghalaya Governor C H Vijayshankar and Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, the Director General of the Assam Rifles. At the reception in Koirengei, the participants were honored by the GOC of the Red Shield Division. This initiative provided the youth with a unique chance to engage with the Indian Army and experience India’s diverse culture.
The interactions and experiences gained during the tour are expected to leave a lasting impression, helping to build connections and deepen the participants’ understanding of India’s unity in diversity.
Through Operation Sadbhavana, the Indian Army remains committed to promoting national integration and goodwill across the country, offering the youth meaningful opportunities while sharing insights into India’s rich history and promising future.
