Manipur Police and SBI Sign MoU to Enhance Welfare of Police Personnel

IMPHAL, Oct 25: In a move to boost the welfare of its officers, the Manipur Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday. The agreement, part of the SBI Police Salary Package, will benefit approximately 18,000 police personnel who hold accounts with SBI, offering them improved financial services and welfare schemes.

The MoU includes a wide range of benefits, such as insurance coverage for personal accident death, air accident death, unlimited ATM transactions, and access to personal and home loans. As per the agreement, police personnel who die in the line of duty will receive ₹85 lakh, while those suffering permanent or partial disability will be entitled to ₹74 lakh and ₹55 lakh, respectively. Additionally, the accident insurance coverage provides ₹75 lakh.

The signing event took place at the Director General of Police’s office in Manipur. Shri Konsam Jayanta, Inspector General of Police (Administration), signed on behalf of the Manipur Police, while Shri Khumukcham Okendra Singh, Regional Manager of SBI’s Imphal Regional Business Office, signed for the bank. Shri Rajiv Singh, Director General of Police, Manipur, and other senior officials from both the police and SBI were also present.
