SENAPATI, Oct 25: A 56-year-old man believed to be involved in illegal arms trading was arrested by a joint team of central and state forces during a search operation in Senapati on Thursday. The operation targeted a vulnerable area and was conducted at the T Khullen Check post.
The suspect, identified as Lungjanang Thiumai, a resident of Senapati district, was apprehended following credible intelligence that prompted the forces to remain vigilant. During the operation, officials recovered a four-wheeler and several packets of cartridges.
According to police reports, the team seized nine packets of 4.8 mm Pellets Single Barrel Breech Loading shotgun plastic cartridges, along with the vehicle, in an operation that lasted about thirty minutes. After his arrest, Lungjanang Thiumai was taken to the Senapati district police station, where a case has been filed against him for further investigation.
