SRI NAGAR, Oct 25: An alleged terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday claimed the lives of two soldiers and two porters, with three others sustaining injuries in the incident. The clash occurred in the Butapathri area as suspected terrorists fired on an army vehicle, prompting a retaliatory response from soldiers. Those injured were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Earlier this week, a similar attack in Ganderbal’s Gagangir area left six construction workers and a doctor dead at a housing camp for tunnel workers.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the increasing violence, and Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha assured swift action. In a statement on X, Sinha expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, adding, “Spoke to top army officials on heinous terror attack in Butapathri Sector. Directed for swift & befitting reply to neutralise terrorists. Operation in progress. Sacrifice of our martyrs will not go in vain.”
