IMPHAL, Oct 26: In a significant operation, security forces carried out search and area control operations across Manipur’s hill and valley districts, targeting high-risk areas to counteract potential threats.
During operations in Shantipur Makha Leikai, Imphal West District, authorities recovered an array of weapons and items, including a single-barrel gun, two locally-made 9mm pistols with magazines, an empty 7.62 LMG magazine, three M-67 hand grenades with detonators, a tube launcher, four live rounds, 41 empty casings, and two tear smoke shells.
A separate operation in Uyungmakhong, Bishnupur District, resulted in further seizures: a 7.62mm SLR, a magazine, six HE 36 grenades, four grenade arm rings, two tear gas grenades, three stinger grenades, five dual shells, six blank cartridges, two Baofeng WT sets, two bulletproof vests, a 2.3 kg locally-made IED, and four HE 36 detonators.
