207 Northeast Youth Receive Appointment Letters at Shillong’s Rozgar Mela

SHILLONG, Oct 29:   The Rozgar Mela 2024 in Shillong saw the distribution of appointment letters to 207 aspirants, marking a significant milestone in the government’s mission to foster a self-reliant and prosperous India. Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, addressed the gathering, celebrating this milestone for the youth and highlighting the government’s commitment to creating an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

“This day isn’t just an event,” Minister Margherita stated, “it is a celebration of hope, new beginnings, and limitless possibilities.” He emphasized that the Rozgar Mela is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to support India’s growth. Nationwide, over 51,000 appointment letters were handed out, fulfilling the government’s pledge to foster inclusive development.

In Meghalaya, the appointments included 191 positions in the Department of Post, 15 in Railways, and 1 at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya. Attendees came from various Northeastern states such as Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, and Assam, underscoring the government’s commitment to reaching all corners of India, especially the Northeast.

Margherita praised the young achievers, calling them ambassadors of the government’s vision for India and urging them to embrace their roles with dedication. “This day is not just about statistics; it is about you, who will drive our nation’s growth,” he said. Congratulating the candidates and their families, he celebrated this moment as a proud occasion for the nation, with these young recipients taking roles that will contribute to India’s inclusive growth.

Speaking to the media, Margherita called the Rozgar Mela an “incredible event” organized across 40 locations nationwide, including Meghalaya. He expressed joy at seeing candidates grateful for the government’s support, noting the commitment to empowering India’s youth.

“This event is unprecedented, with over 51,000 appointment letters distributed,” he added, referencing Prime Minister Modi’s speech which emphasized the youth’s essential role in building a developed Bharat. The Prime Minister had also lauded the dedication of youth and stakeholders in furthering the goal of Viksit Bharat.

Expressing pride in New India’s progress, Margherita said, “Not only as a minister but as a citizen of India, I am proud to see this progress toward prosperity.” With Rozgar Mela 2024, he affirmed the government’s commitment to providing skills, training, and opportunities for young Indians to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s future.
