IMPHAL, Oct 30: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh kicked off the ‘Run for Unity’ marathon from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday to celebrate National Unity Day, which honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision for a united India.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister emphasized the event’s significance, stating, “This run is a powerful reminder of our commitment to unity and harmony. Let every stride today reinforce our shared bond as one nation, one people.”
The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from various groups across Manipur, including students, government officials, and representatives from numerous organizations, all uniting to promote national integration. National Unity Day, observed every year on October 31, acknowledges Sardar Patel’s crucial role in bringing together India’s princely states and advocating for national unity.
