NEW DELHI, Nov 1: Following Diwali, oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders nationwide on Friday, with the cost of the 19 kg cylinder rising by Rs 62, bringing the new price in Delhi to Rs 1,802 from Rs 1,740.
Additionally, the price of the 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has gone up by Rs 15. However, there is relief for households as the prices of the commonly used 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged.
The revised prices take effect immediately and will affect commercial establishments such as restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that heavily rely on LPG. This adjustment is part of a broader trend in fuel price changes driven by volatile global market conditions.
On October 1, OMCs previously increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 48.50, which has significantly impacted businesses. The price of 5 kg FTL cylinders also saw an increase of Rs 12.
The new prices are now in effect across the country, potentially leading to higher operating costs for businesses that depend on LPG, which may result in increased prices for end consumers in various sectors.
