SENAPATI, Nov 1:  Senapati Sporting Club celebrated a remarkable achievement at the 11th Kohima Open Volleyball Tournament, securing titles in both the men’s and women’s categories on Friday.

The tournament, held at Indira Gandhi Stadium from October 30 to November 1, showcased the club’s dominance as they maintained their championship status with straight-set victories.

In the men’s final, Senapati Sporting Club displayed their skill by defeating Kiruphema Youth Organisation-B with straight-set scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-18, receiving a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, while the runners-up were awarded INR 50,000. Semi-finalists Blind Spikers Akuluto VK and Japfü Range Volleyball Club each took home INR 15,000.

Senapati Sporting Club continued their success in the women’s category, triumphing over MADFA Club Dimapur in the final. The match ended with scores of 25-21, 25-19, and 25-14, allowing the champions to secure a cash prize of INR 60,000, while the runners-up received INR 30,000.

In addition to the team accolades, individual awards were presented in recognition of exceptional performance. Deepak from Senapati Sporting Club was named Men’s Best Setter, while his teammate Sakil took the Men’s Best Spiker award. In the women’s category, Ruby from Senapati Sporting Club earned the title of Best Setter, and Sangita Das from MADFA Club Dimapur was awarded Best Spiker.
