IMPHAL, Nov 3: Assam and Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Saturday convened a meeting with Vice Chancellors and Registrars from Central and State universities to discuss the progress of the New Education Policy (NEP) implementation in Manipur. Held at Raj Bhavan in Imphal, the meeting focused on ensuring the full execution of NEP 2020, aiming to make education more experimental, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, flexible, and enjoyable.
During the meeting, Governor Acharya inquired about staffing issues related to teaching and non-teaching positions, along with other developmental matters affecting higher education institutions. He presented an overview of the current state of NEP implementation in the universities.
The Governor encouraged the Vice Chancellors to commit to the complete execution of the NEP 2020 and offered his support and assistance in overcoming any challenges related to its implementation and the advancement of higher education in Manipur.
Attendees included N Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University, H Gyan Prakash, Vice Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University and Manipur Technical University, and Paonam Gunindro Singh, Vice Chancellor of Manipur University of Culture.
