IMPHAL, Nov 4: Manipur police apprehended an Arambai Tenngol member on Sunday in connection with the October 31 assault on two Poumai Naga youths in Lamsang, Imphal West district.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Khullem Sanjeep, also known as Bhim, son of late N. Tomba of Naoremthong DC Road, was taken into custody and remains under police investigation.
Earlier on 2nd November, police had arrested a cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in connection to the assault and alleged robbery of the two youths.
The incident has heightened concerns about community safety, with many organizations including the Naga People’s Organization (NPO), Senapati District Women’s Association (SDWA), Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) advocating for justice.
