Chief Minister Biren Singh Unveils Coaching Scheme for National Level Entrance Exams

IMPHAL, Nov 6:  Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Wednesday launched the Chief Minister’s Coaching Scheme for Entrance Examination to Professional Courses at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The initiative, organized by the Department of Education (S), Government of Manipur, is designed to provide coaching for competitive exams such as JEE (Main/Advanced) and NEET, preparing students to compete at the national level.

Speaking at the event, CM Singh highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting students through various schemes aimed at improving education infrastructure, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He mentioned a previous initiative to support civil service aspirants with scholarships for coaching, which has now been extended to students preparing for professional entrance exams.

The coaching will be provided online in an interactive format, with the Department of Education (S) covering the entire course fee for selected students. CM Singh encouraged students to work diligently and announced that the government would cover all expenses for those who pass JEE or NEET and pursue further studies.

He also discussed the School Fagathansi Mission, which has already reached 120 schools, with plans to extend it to 240 schools. The College Fagathansi Mission is focused on improving government colleges and providing essential resources. Teachers have also received training under the STAR Education program to bring about educational reforms.

Additionally, CM Singh revealed that a new book, Know Manipur, would soon be published to help students gain better knowledge about the state. He directed the Director of Education (S) to organize a tree plantation activity for the students participating in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

The Chief Minister also promoted the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme-Pilot Project, with 76 internship opportunities available for the youth of Manipur. The scheme offers a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000 for interns and includes six months of hands-on experience.

Two MoUs were signed between the Government of Manipur and coaching institutes Aakash Educational Services Ltd and FIIT JEE Ltd, to deliver coaching under the scheme. CM Singh distributed tablets to 63 selected students, including 33 for NEET and 30 for JEE, to facilitate their online learning.

The event was attended by ministers, MLAs, the Chief Secretary, representatives from the coaching institutes, and other distinguished guests.
