Manipur Police Arrest Four Suspects in Abduction of Joshua Kamei

IMPHAL, Nov 8:  Manipur Police on Thursday raided a suspected hideout in Urup Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District, as part of an investigation into the abduction and assault of 23-year-old railway driver Joshua Kamei from Kambiron (Puiluan Village), Noney.

Four members of the KYKL (SOREPA) group were arrested during the raid. They were identified as Hijam Nikhil Singh (27), Hijam Thanglen Meitei (30), Thongam Ningthem Singh (32), Gobin Elangbam (29)

Police also seized an SLR rifle, a .303 rifle, two Maruti Gypsy vehicles, and other incriminating items. Additionally, two individuals, believed to be drug users and held by the suspects, were rescued.

In a separate case, related to the October 31 assault of two Poumai Naga men from Senapati in the Lamsang area, police apprehended a third suspect, Lourembam Surjit Meitei from Taothong Ayungba, at his residence. He has been remanded to police custody for further investigation.
