SENAPATI: The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is now accepting applications for the Post-Matric Scholarships under the North Eastern Council (NEC) Merit Scholarship Scheme for students from the North Eastern States for the 2024-25 academic year.
Sherry Lalthangzo, Economic Adviser (E&M), provided information on the eligibility criteria for this scholarship. To qualify, applicants must be permanent residents of a North Eastern State and enrolled in recognized institutions across India in various disciplines and levels of study, including Diploma, Graduate, Post Graduate, PhD, and MPhil programs, both within and outside the North-East region.
A minimum of 60% marks in the last examination is required to apply, and the annual income of the applicant’s parent or guardian must not exceed Rs. 8.00 lakh.
Applicants are advised to have the following documents ready for submission: a valid mobile number, Aadhaar (UID) Number, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account, an income certificate, and a bonafide certificate from their institution.
