EMESIIPHRO, Nov 10: The Mao Baptist Youth Organisation Senapati (MBYOS) hosted its vibrant annual Cultural Sunday on 10 November at the Emesiiphro Ground, an event that brought together hundreds of community members to celebrate faith, tradition, and the spirit of unity. Attendees gathered eagerly from late morning, joining hands in song, prayer, and cultural performances that reflected the essence of their heritage.

The programme opened at 11:30 am, led by Melio Lerina, Youth Director of MBC Emesiphro, with an enthusiastic Opening Hymn, “Praise Our Creator.” Pastor S. Komuo of MBC Centre Church offered the Invocation, followed by a warm welcome from MBYOS Director Niniu Pfozhe, who greeted the crowd and expressed joy at the community’s support for this annual celebration.

A pivotal part of the event was the Exhortation delivered by A. Neli, Youth Secretary of MBCA. With heartfelt conviction, Neli spoke about the importance of youth leadership in maintaining the cultural values and faith that bind the community together. “It is up to our younger generations to carry the torch forward, not only in preserving our heritage but in guiding it with love, respect, and faith,” Neli emphasised, receiving resounding applause. He urged everyone to remember their cultural roots and the values passed down, which form the foundation of a strong, resilient community.

The Message, delivered by Rev. A. Pfokrelo, Executive Secretary of MBCA, delved into themes of unity, compassion, and service to others. Pfokrelo addressed challenges the community faces, reminding listeners of the strength that comes from a shared faith and commitment to each other. “As a community, we are not defined by our struggles, but by our response to them. Let us continue to support one another in our walk with faith and embrace our heritage with pride and love,” he shared. His message was both powerful and encouraging, motivating attendees to strengthen their ties and uphold their spiritual commitments.

As the event continued, the community enjoyed a diverse programme with performances by MBYOS members, a touching Solo by N. Mariini, and an inspiring Duet by N. Chapeji Chalai and Fiishuni Ariicho. These performances, along with a well-received Skit by the MBYOS, added a joyful dimension to the day’s activities, reminding everyone of the talents within the community.

The celebration concluded with a Closing Hymn, “Onward Christian Soldiers,” and a Benediction led by Pastor M. Pfokreni of MBC Mao Taphou, marking a blessed end to the day’s proceedings.
