CHANDEL, Nov 13: Assam Rifles hosted a vibrant Children’s Day celebration across several villages in Chandel district, including New Samtal, Old Samtal, Sehlon, Phoilen, Tuitong, and Kovang, fostering joy and community spirit among local children and families. The events, aimed at encouraging creativity and interaction, featured a range of engaging activities that delighted participants and strengthened bonds within the community.
The celebration included both educational and cultural activities, with children enthusiastically participating in drawing and essay writing competitions, poem recitations, and traditional dance and song performances, captivating the audience with their talents. Adding to the excitement, traditional games such as tug of war and athletics were organized, building camaraderie and teamwork among the young attendees.
To encourage and support the children, Assam Rifles distributed educational kits and prizes to competition winners. Additionally, a session was held to educate children and their families on basic health and hygiene practices, promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
The community showed overwhelming support for the celebrations, with parents, teachers, and village elders actively participating and expressing their appreciation for Assam Rifles’ initiative.
