SENAPATI, Nov 14: In a continued effort to improve the lives of rural communities, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Sunbird Trust, distributed 12 solar-powered lights to residents of Tungjoy village in Senapati district, Manipur, on 13 November. The event marks a crucial step towards addressing the persistent challenge of unreliable electricity in this remote region.
The solar lights were handed over by officials from Assam Rifles and Sunbird Trust to the local villagers, who expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. The lights are expected to significantly enhance daily life by providing much-needed illumination for various activities and improving safety during the evening hours.
Both Assam Rifles and Sunbird Trust are committed to the socio-economic development of local villages. This initiative, though small, is aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Tungjoy’s residents.
Village Chief, along with other local leaders, extended their appreciation to Assam Rifles and Sunbird Trust for their support in bringing positive change to the community.
