BOSEM Declares HSLC Exam 2025 Results; Pass Rate at 91.37%

IMPHAL, May 12: The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) has officially declared the results of the 2025 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations. The results were announced by the Secretary of Education (S), Naorem Praveen, at a formal event held at the BOSEM office on Monday.

A total of 36,943 students appeared for the HSLC exam conducted from February 19 to March 7, out of which 33,755 students passed, recording an overall pass percentage of 91.37%. This marks a 1.66% drop compared to last year’s 93.03%.

Male candidates recorded a slightly higher success rate at 91.50%, while female candidates followed closely with 91.24%.

In terms of institutional performance, private schools led with a pass percentage of 94.15%, followed by aided schools at 91.38%. Government schools lagged behind significantly, registering only an 82.32% pass rate.

In contrast, a few schools raised concerns due to 0% pass rates, notably Senapati Government High School, Paomata High School, and Shyamasakhi High School, prompting discussions about the academic standards and support in these institutions.

The board also confirmed that results for nine students have been withheld due to various discrepancies. School authorities are directed to contact the Controller of Examinations before May 30, 2025, to resolve the issues. The affected students are:

  1. Suraj Barman (Don Bosco High School, Senapati)
  2. Sonia Shimrah (Savio School, Ukhrul)
  3. Jiya Gupta (Don Bosco High School, Tamenglong)
  4. Utjal Barman (Jiri Public School, Jiribam)
  5. Tanishqka Singh (Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Foundation School)
  6. Mangaram Debbarma (Needy Home Academy, Mapao Zingtun Khullen)
  7. Muna Shankar (Royal Ambassadors’ Academy)
  8. Goldy Carlyn Bora (St. Dominic Savio School, Imphal)
  9. Rina Nomosudra (St. Dominic Savio School, Imphal)

The re-scrutiny window will be open from May 15 to 30, with a fee of Rs. 2100 per subject. Students and guardians interested in the process are advised to apply within this period.

Provisional certificates will be available from May 14, while original certificates can be collected by the respective schools starting May 28.
